Born and raised in the vibrant city of Chennai, India, Divya initially pursued Computer Science, graduating with a bachelor’s degree in that subject. Divya’s move to Silicon Valley in 2004 marked a pivotal shift in her career. It was here that her passion for design flourished, leading her to West Valley College where she obtained an associate degree in Interior Design.

Divya's creative journey took her back to India in 2011, where she honed her skills at a prestigious residential design firm before launching her own Design Build company, The Plan D, whose award-winning designs were featured in Vogue magazine. Additionally, in 2021, she was recognized with a National Association of Remodeling Industry Platinum award for a whole house remodel project.

Beyond her professional pursuits, Vijayanandakumar volunteers for a number of organizations, including Habitat for Humanity and the American Heart Institute, extending mentorship to children in rural India through Isha Vidhya.

Divya lives and works in Pleasanton, CA, where she embodies the belief that design is not just about creating spaces, but about celebrating life’s diverse experiences and stories.
