Candidate Statement
I am interested in the Professional Development Director role for 2025-2027 because I am passionate about fostering a thriving, inclusive, and well-informed design community. As an emerging professional and active ASID CA Peninsula Chapter Board Member since 2021, I understand the importance of networking and continuing education in professional growth.
Serving as the Student Representative to the Board in 2021 and now as the Emerging Professional chair has given me immense satisfaction in curating valuable events for students and emerging professionals. Volunteering at various PDC events over the years has also given me insight into what it takes to execute successful programs that support our design community.
In this role, I will focus on developing high-quality events and accessible learning opportunities across different practice areas. I will also curate Continuing Education programs to help members stay informed and meet reporting deadlines. I am committed to supporting designers pursuing certifications, such as NCIDQ, CID, LEED and WELL Building, by providing guidance on eligibility, prep courses, and support groups.
Collaboration is key, and I look forward to strengthening partnerships that expand our Chapter’s reach. By ensuring all chapter communications align with the ASID brand, I aim to keep members informed and engaged. I am excited about the opportunity to contribute and make a lasting impact.
