Gudrun Enger
President-Elect, 2026-2027
Gudrun Enger, Allied ASID, CID, AKBD
Candidate Statement
I am grateful for this nomination. It comes at a moment when I was looking to put my leadership skills to work again, and ASID California Peninsula feels like a natural fit.
I have watched this chapter do great work over the last few years as I developed from emerging professional to Allied ASID member. The monthly events focused on building community, continuing education, and studio visits celebrating craftsmanship and local makers reflect the kind of organization I want to help lead. I would like to continue supporting and engaging with chapter sponsors, encouraging deeper and more meaningful connections between manufacturers, vendors, and designers, while also bringing in new members on both sides to keep the chapter lively and full of fresh energy.
I have a strong background in systems and processes, which I use to help clients move forward on projects with less friction. I want to bring that same thinking to this board.
My priorities center on three areas. Supporting student and emerging designers as they move from school into practice. Giving long-time professionals energy and reasons to stay engaged. And supporting independent designers at all stages of their careers as they navigate new technologies and the shifting expectations those changes bring to our work.
For the president-elect year, I want to spend time listening, connecting, and understanding how the organization works before deciding what I want to bring to my presidential year.
I would be glad to serve this community and honored to have your vote.
