Board Elections

The ASID California Peninsula Nominating Committee wishes to introduce the Slate of Candidates for election to office for the California Peninsula Chapter of the American Society of Interior Designers for their respective terms beginning October 1, 2021.

These nominees, committed and dedicated, are ready to take on a position of service leadership for the chapter members and the profession of interior design.

On behalf of the Nominating Committee, thank you for your attention and for taking the time to vote for your fellow members who will lead us in the upcoming ASID year.

Slate of Candidates

Petitioning:

Additional candidates for the above positions may be nominated through a written petition.  The petition must be signed by not less than 10% of the total Practitioner (Professional, Allied, and Associate) and Industry Partner members of the Chapter in good standing.  The petition must be received by the Chapter Administrator no later than thirty (30) days after the names of the candidates are posted. The candidates on the written petition must meet minimum eligibility requirements to hold the office for which they are being petitioned. These requirements are:

Officers: Chapter President-elect candidate eligibility requirements include:

            —Members with the appellation of ASID or Allied ASID and;

            —Must have served on the chapter board within the last 10 years, or

            —Must have served as a committee chair for two years within the last 10 years.

             or be approved by Special Dispensation by the Chapter Support Team.

Directors: Members in good standing with the appellation of ASID, Allied ASID, or Industry Partner members, in good standing, are eligible for director positions.

 

Balloting:

Ballots will be e-mailed on January 18, 2021 to the Chapter’s  Professional, Allied, Educator, Associate, and Industry Partner members in good standing. Members must return ballots within 10 days (by January 28, 2021).  If you prefer to receive a printed ballot, the Administrator will need to be notified by January 20, 2021. Official election results will be announced no later than February 1, 2021.

If selected as a chapter leader, what key goals would you set and how would you propose achieving those goals?

As chapter President-Elect, my objectives would be to support the goals of the ASID Ca Peninsula Chapter and those of the current President. I would embrace the ASID National core values and move to bring positive change to our chapter. Together with the board members, I want to bring value to our members and Industry partners and adapt to new ways of coming together. Strengthening our programs and making a difference in our design community through diversity and inclusion, and bringing fiscal health to the chapter will be a high priority.

If selected as a chapter leader, my key goals would be to promote ASID and its values to designers of all levels of experience and to grow both membership and sponsorship. We have a unique opportunity this year, coming out of COVID, people will be eager to get out. I would like to work with the board ti help find and offer new and unique opportunities that appeal to a broad audience and really get members excited and involved!

If selected as the new Communications Director, I will increase the efficiency of promoting the value of interior design to our community.

If selected as a chapter leader, what key goals would you set and how would you propose achieving those goals?

As Professional Development Director I would form a committee to help plan, organize, and execute events that support the vision and strategic plan of the chapter president. I would strive to provide content that will benefit our membership and attract new members. I envision events that are not only educational but also provide networking opportunities and a forum for our partners and sponsors to educate our members on their products and value.
